Lamplighters: Light the Night
(Original Russian title: “Шагаю-Зажигаю” — a playful rhyming phrase meaning “I walk, I light the lamps.”)
These Incident Cards are part of my original tabletop game set in a fictional late-Victorian city.
In the game, players take on the role of city lamplighters who patrol the streets at night, lighting the lamps and confronting emerging threats — from supernatural creatures and rogue machines to criminals and urban unrest.
Each “Incident” card represents a narrative disruption within the city. The gameplay system is built around mirrored mechanics: every threat has a corresponding resolution card, encouraging strategic movement across city districts.
The visual direction combines:
• stylized character illustration
• Victorian ornamental framing
• warm vs cold faction color coding
• print-ready layout clarity
The goal was to create a cohesive, atmospheric card system that feels both collectible and fully functional at tabletop scale.
All artwork and layout design by me.
